Leak Detection & Pressure Monitoring

Envocore recognizes the importance of maintaining safe and reliable water infrastructure, which is why we offer comprehensive leak detection and pressure monitoring services for our customers. Our highly trained technicians utilize advanced technology and equipment to detect leaks and monitor pressure, ensuring that your utility’s infrastructure is functioning properly. With our leak detection and pressure monitoring services, you can prevent water loss, reduce costs, and protect public health and safety.

SSO Monitoring & Water Quality

Envocore offers comprehensive SSO monitoring and water quality services for our customers. SSO monitoring involves tracking and reporting on sanitary sewer overflows, which can have significant environmental and public health impacts. Our team works with customers to develop monitoring programs that comply with regulatory requirements and protect public safety. We also offer water quality testing and analysis to ensure that water is safe for consumption and meets regulatory standards.

Sanitary Sewer Overflows (SSOs)

Sanitary Sewer Overflows (SSOs) can happen when flow rates exceed pumping capacity due to various causes such as blockages, sewer line breaks, power failures, improper sewer design, tampering, and inflow and infiltration (I&I). Inflow and infiltration (I&I) are the leading cause of SSOs, accounting for up to 45% of the annual flow to treatment plants.

Risks and Legal Implications of SSOs

SSOs pose risks of contaminating public areas, causing property damage, and endangering public health. The U.S. EPA prohibits SSOs without an NPDES permit and imposes limitations on pumping station use, restricting their operation to a maximum of 10 hours at a time to minimize the risk of failure.

US3 Solution for SSO Monitoring

US3 partners with a utility to develop a solution for near real-time visibility at critical locations to proactively identify sewer overflow conditions. The solution integrates smart sensors from US3 and data visualization tools, allowing the utility to create customizable data dashboards to address regulatory concerns.

SSO Monitoring Automation and Optimization

By automating the measurement of flow rates at pumping stations, this solution replaces the traditional and hazardous manual process. The collected data can be utilized for capacity analysis and performance monitoring to optimize sanitary sewers. Additionally, remote access to sensor data helps the utility identify inaccuracies or failures in measurement devices, ensuring the integrity of the information collected.

Metering Surveys

Envocore offers comprehensive metering surveys for customers to help them accurately measure and track water and energy usage. Our team of experts utilizes advanced technology and equipment to conduct metering surveys, ensuring that water utilities are able to pinpoint areas of high usage and accurately bill customers. Our metering surveys also help utilities identify potential leaks and other issues in their infrastructure, allowing them to address these issues before they become major problems.

Small Meter Comprehensive or Sample Surveys

Field investigations of a partial or comprehensive set of meters within a water authority’s portfolio. Smaller meter surveys include documentation of meter size, serial numbers, current reads, box/lid conditions, and additional ancillary infrastructure items.

Intermediate & Large Meter Surveys

Surveys are typically conducted on 100% of locations to identify all parameters of a small meter survey, plus details regarding meter lay lengths, spool piece needs, vault/pit conditions, interior commercial locations, etc presence of bypass/isolation valves/test ports for purposes of meter testing.

Meter Testing

Envocore’s Utility Data Management service is designed to help our customers manage their data effectively and efficiently. Our team of experts provides a comprehensive suite of services, including data collection, storage, analysis, and reporting, ensuring that all data is accurate, reliable, and up-to-date.

Push / Pull – Small / Intermediate Meter Testing (2” and Smaller) utilizing municipality bench stock meters, or, newly purchased meters for replacement

  1. Retrieved meters may be tested in batch utilizing a field testing comparison meter (NIST traceable), OR
  2. By packing and shipping retrieved meters to a NIST-certified testing facility

Test in Place – Large meters (3” and above)

  1. Meters may be tested in place utilizing our field testing comparison meter, provided adequate isolation and test ports are available and functioning

Meter testing is performed in accordance with all AWWA M6 standards regarding duration and flow rates of testing, and IPMVP protocols regarding sample size requirements yielding statistically valid results.

Service Line Identification

Helps the utility comply with the EPA lead mandate. It’s always good to know ahead of time where there might be failed infrastructure problems.

Our technicians are trained to be knowledgeable of the different types of water supply lines that can be found in the ground. Our installers are trained to identify:

  1. Galvanized
  2. Non-lead copper
  3. Non-lead plastic
  4. Non-lead other
  5. Lead
  6. Lead-lined galvanized
  7. Unknown – likely lead
  8. Unknown – unlikely lead

We identify line materials through a scratch-and-observe method, with the use of a magnet.
